Welcome to Santa Cruz Elementary School! We are proud of our students and value the excellent parental support!
Congratulations to all our students, teachers, parents, and staff! We have moved up to a Performing Plus School and we made AYP! Every student in our school is valued and appreciated! The teachers continue to be dedicated to “improve learning” and are open and conducive to parental input. Our teacher to student ratio is good, and our school is committed to support individualized learning and character development. One of our many goals is again to encourage our students to do well academically and to display great behavior and a great attitude!
Also, please remind your child to study, respect their peers, to do their homework and to behave well at school. Additionally we ask that your children wear sunscreen. The sun shines almost every day in beautiful Arizona, but with that sun, there is a need to protect the skin of our children and yes, their parents. Additionally, we again are asking that our parents check the school work/homework of their children on a daily basis. Children appreciate the value extended to them through a frequent chat or a friendly reminder of how important a “good education” is.
We again look forward to great student behavior. We have started the school year praising our students who display good behavior. Good behavior is important for not only your child but also other children in the class that benefit from acceptable behavior from their classmates.
As previously stated, we will continue to improve academically and appreciate the excellent support we have received from our parents and community. We are an “inviting school,” where we display and maintain our “inviting climate.” Working together, we will reach our academically excelling goals.
Please be reminded that there is no school next Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Additionally, Curriculum Night is August 24 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The expectation is that all our Parents will again visit with their child’s teacher. In addition, at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, we will have our first “Terrific Kid” assembly. On August 17 at 5:00 p.m., we will have a P.T.O. meeting.
In closing, the staff and I appreciate and thank you for your great support! Please do not forget that I have always maintained an open door policy and feel free to call or stop in to visit, whenever you wish.
Yours in education,

Dr. John Flores, Principal
