It was bound to happen—my last Coyote Tracks newsletter. What an extraordinary year it has been filled with countless achievements and experiences. I loved working with your children and with you. It has been my privilege to serve this community.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have worked with me and our staff to meet the needs of your children and our school. A special thanks goes to our PTO for its unending support.

We are currently working on class configurations and teacher assignments for next year. We do our best to anticipate the configuration of our classes, knowing full well that enrollment increases or decreases over the summer can mean a very different scenario by the start of school. Teachers are eager to have an idea of their assignments as well so they can plan accordingly. We carefully consider student placement and we follow our process closely. Teacher request forms will be accepted through May 28 (available in the office). Because of the unpredictability of summer enrollment changes, we will not finalize class placements until August. It is helpful to know if families are moving away. Please notify the office of any new changes.

Finally, we are now accepting kindergarten registration packets for all students who are born before September 1, 2004. Due to budget cuts at the State level, the district will not offer the kindergarten program to students who turn five after September 1.

I wish you and your family a fun-filled summer! Time spent together is so important to bring families together. As a mother of two teenage daughters, our children’s elementary years pass all too quickly. Have a wonderful summer!
